It is in harmony with the Cretan environment and the traditional colors of blue and white. Built in 1908 with 60 cm stone walls, 167 square meters big it is the ideal home for a unique unforgettable breakaway from your everyday life. Its yard offers you privacy, relaxation, fun, serenity, romance and beauty.

Villa Rodanthi has a big yard with a jacuzzi for 7 people, a big kitchen and living room with a traditional fireplace, a bedroom with a wooden bunk for 3 people, ideal for kids and a big bedroom comfortable enough for 4 people with a big fireplace and an electrical treadmill for working out and a fully renovated big bath room with shower. All together gives you the sense of warmth and makes you feel like home, it is not like any other villa.

Situated in a very beautiful traditional village which has a lot to offer for the tourists, archaeological sites, 10 minutes from the archaeological site of Faistos, beautiful tavernas and cafes, 5 minutes from Kalamaki beach, 8 minutes from Matala beach and 6 minutes from Kommos beach, lovely sightseeing and located in a very picturesque neighborhood in the center of the village and at the same time private and serene.

Our philosophy is philoxenia, a greek word which means friendly, warm, open and welcoming environment and hospitality. Things to do in Kamilari

Discover Kamilari in South Creta. Kamilari village is located 2.5 kms west of the archaeological site of Phaistos and 2.5 kms from the coast, at the south-west of Heraklion prefecture. Kamilari is built on top of three hills, Evgora, Goulas and Alevrota, and it has 339 inhabitants.

Kamilari is a quiet, traditional village, with a panoramic view to the endless olive groves of the Messara valley and its people are very hospitable with a great respect to the traditions of Crete. Kamilari gives you the sense of a mixed community because it has Greek and foreigner inhabitants, that live together in harmony. It has also many cultural activities. In Kamilari you can find small hotels, villas, traditional guest houses and rent rooms, as well as taverns and traditional cafes. The beaches of Kalamaki, Komos and Matala are nearby and you can reach Kamilari by bus from Heraklion three times a day.

About the Owner

Dear guests!
My name is Eva Kornarou. I am the owner of Villa Rodanthi, a house that I love a lot and that I have inherited from my beloved grandmother Rodanthi. I am an artist, a singer for 22 years, I work in a touristic company and I have created an eventmanagement company with my best friend called Plan B Mires. My biggest passion and challenge for years has been the renovation of Villa Rodanthi. In this way I felt I would be able to bring back to life this traditional beautiful family home and to create new memories. I have combined my passion for antiques and the old elements with the modern elements and I have created this space that you see today with love and a lot of personal work. My biggest challenge was to preserve the old house in its traditional form, but to renovate it with new functional forms. I have decorated everything with my personal touch and I have used the paintings of my dear friend Alrun Fisher to give a fresh artistic color to this house. My goal was to create a space which gives you the sense of a warm welcome home and not of a hotel. My wish is to make you feel welcome and to feel like home. I hope you will be able to feel that.

We will meet in a specific arranged place as scheduled and take cars to drive to Kali Limenes. There we will take the boat to visit first the cave with stalictites. It is a real miracle of nature. Then we will go to Martsalo. There we will visit Saracinica and see the monuments left from the Arabs many years ago. We will also see the Finikes. That means the pirat beach where grow up palm trees long time ago. Then we see the cave of Saint Kasiani, where she has lived a long part of her life as a herimit. Then we will go to Agiofangaro for swimming. There we will also see the church of Agios Andonios and a special cave, where today guests do meditations. We will admire the lovely nature and the beautiful crystal waters. It is always possible to enjoy our captain playing the lira and singing. Also along with one of our two guides Eva.
